Ladies and gentlemen,
It is now the time for the Latvian National Committee of the Baltic Road Association to organise the International Baltic Road Conference. Preparations are already underway and, knowing that the conference attracts more and more interest and the number of participants will grow, it is hard to find a place that would suite the conference more that the capital city of Latvia. Within nine years that have passed after the conference in 2000 the Riga city has become more modern and splendid having more European accents but at the same time it has retained its historical Riga charm. Late August is also the time when Riga celebrates its city festivities that might spice up your visit even more.
This will be the first International Baltic Road Conference organised in Latvia after its accession to the European Union in 2004. We wish to share our experience acquired during the first years within the EU, what views we have on road sector development, what projects we have already implemented and what are our future plans.
We hope that the interest in the XXVII International Baltic Road Conference will be expressed both by our co-operation partners with whom we have long and friendly relations and by representatives of new organisations and companies who might provide new and untraditional views on developing the road sector and solving its problems.
We look forward to meeting you in Riga and promise that the last days in August of 2009 will offer wide opportunities both for creative work and pleasant entertainment.

Requirements:
Report title and abstract in English or Russian shall be submitted to the conference scientific
committee before 1 August 2008. Report abstract shall not exceed 400 words (one A4 page).
The authors will be notified on the acceptance or rejection of the proposed reports not later that
November 1, 2008. Full reports in English or Russian shall be submitted before February 1, 2009.
